Born and raised in Waipahu, Hawaii four friends embrace the love of music and singing from their early high school campus days to forming a group we know today as Rebel SoulJahz. Composed by four talented vocalist. Michael Maglinti, Will Sua, Andrew “Bubba” Hodges, and Tunez Moananu each with their own style but together creating a harmonious foursome unlike any other reggae group.
Rebel Souljahz music is heavily influenced by reggae and R&B music. It’s signature, soulful harmonies by four lead singers separates them from your typical reggae artist.
JAY R
Born in Los Angeles, Jay R is a Filipino-American singer, songwriter, producer, and performer widely known as the Philippines’ King of R&B. He began performing and producing music at a young age before moving to Manila to pursue a solo career in music and television.
His debut album, Gameface, achieved double-platinum status, followed by the platinum-selling Soul in Love and gold-certified OPM Love Classics and Elevated. Known for his smooth vocals and signature R&B sound, Jay R has built a celebrated career spanning the Philippines and the U.S.

Filipino Island Fest is a celebration of Filipino culture, community, and belonging. What began as a grassroots gathering in 2023 has grown into one of the Bay Area's largest Filipino cultural events, bringing thousands together through food, music, art, entrepreneurship, and shared experiences.
This year's theme, Rooted Here – Culture That Grounds Us. Community That Grows Us., reflects both where we come from and where we stand today. Grounded in the spirit of Bayanihan, it honors the connections, traditions, and collective strength that continue to shape our identity and future.

Last year, almost 20,000 people joined us on the waterfront to celebrate Filipino culture through food, music, art, entrepreneurship, and community.
What many people don't see are the months of planning, permits, infrastructure, security, entertainment, and hundreds of people working behind the scenes to bring the festival to life.
This year, for the first time, Filipino Island Fest will be a ticketed event.
We wanted to keep it affordable and accessible while creating a sustainable future for the festival and allowing us to continue growing this celebration for years to come.

Why We're Charging Admission
For the first time in Filipino Island Fest history, we will be charging admission.
As the festival has grown, so have the costs of producing it. What started as a community gathering has grown into one of the largest Filipino cultural celebrations in the country, bringing together thousands of attendees, hundreds of vendors, performers, artists, volunteers, and community organizations.
Admission fees help support festival infrastructure, safety, entertainment, cultural programming, staffing, permits, sanitation, and operations while allowing us to continue growing the festival in a sustainable way.
Our goal has always been to create a meaningful space where Filipino culture can be celebrated, shared, and passed on to future generations. We have worked hard to keep ticket prices affordable and accessible for our community.
